A special court in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday confiscated the ill-gotten assets of Pradeep Kumar Barik, the former Sub-Collector of Jharsuguda worth over Rs 3.10 Crore.
In a Confiscation Case filed by the Odisha Vigilance, the learned Authorized Officer, Special Court, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, passed an order for confiscating the immovable and movable assets to the tune of Rs 3,10,82,815 (Rupees Three Crore Ten Lakh Eighty-two Thousand Eight Hundred Fifteen) of Pradeep Kumar Barik, which includes immovable assets i.e.1 multi storeyed building & 2 numbers of plots at Bhubaneswar, and movable assets (Cash & Gold).
Earlier, Barik was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (e) PC Act. 1988/109 IPC for possession of above-referred assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, was convicted by the Special Court, Bhubaneswar.
