The Indian Government has announced the immediate suspension of visa services for Pakistani nationals after the terror attack devastated Pahalgam, South Kashmir, claiming the lives of 26 innocent people.

The serene tourist haven turned into a scene of horror, with several others left injured. This grim event is now etched as one of the most severe attacks since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.

The Indian government took a firm stance, announcing the immediate suspension of visa services for Pakistani nationals. Effective April 27, all valid visas stand revoked except for medical visas, which retain validity until April 29. Pakistani nationals currently in India have been advised to leave before their visas expire. Similarly, Indian citizens are strongly discouraged from travelling to Pakistan.

As the region reels from the aftermath, security has been intensified in Pahalgam. Search operations are underway to track the culprits behind this heinous crime. Visuals from the once-bustling streets depict a ghostly silence, reflecting the sombre mood. Public outrage has surged, with organisations calling for a Jammu bandh and political parties demanding accountability for security lapses.

This tragedy marks a turning point, prompting serious discussions on measures to bolster national security and protect innocent lives.
