IIT Bhubaneswar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhaktivedanta Research Centre (BRC), Kolkata, to advance interdisciplinary research and strengthen Indian Knowledge Systems.
The MoU was signed on March 19, 2026, by Prof. Dinakar Pasla, Dean (Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy), IIT Bhubaneswar, and Dr. Sumanta Rudra, Dean Academics and Trustee, BRC. Faculty members and officials from both institutions attended the signing ceremony.
The partnership will promote academic collaboration in philosophy, digital humanities, manuscript studies, and civilizational research. Both institutions will jointly organise conferences, seminars, workshops, and lecture series. The collaboration also includes joint research projects, publications, and the development of digital tools and repositories for manuscript digitisation and textual analysis.
Prof. Pasla emphasised that the initiative will strengthen scholarly exchange and contribute to global discourse on Indian traditions, ethics, and sustainability. Dr Rudra highlighted that the collaboration will significantly enhance the Indian Knowledge System and foster meaningful contributions in the future.
The MoU marks a major step in bridging traditional knowledge systems with modern academic and technological frameworks. It reinforces IIT Bhubaneswar’s commitment to interdisciplinary excellence and cultural scholarship while expanding BRC’s reach in knowledge dissemination.
