IIT Bhubaneswar announced the launch of a Blended-Mode M.Tech Programme in Electric Vehicle Technology on May 29, 2026, developed in collaboration with evACAD, a clean energy-focused education and skilling platform.

The programme aims to equip industry professionals with advanced expertise in EV systems, battery technology, charging infrastructure, and vehicle integration while allowing them to continue their careers. Admission does not require a GATE qualification; selection will be based on academic background and professional experience.

The curriculum covers vehicle design, powertrain development, control systems, battery design and diagnostics, charging technologies, and infrastructure. The blended structure combines weekend live online classes, self-paced learning, hands-on projects, industry case studies, and campus immersion at IIT Bhubaneswar.

Key highlights include:

  • Blended Mode M.Tech Degree from IIT Bhubaneswar
  • Designed for working professionals
  • Weekend online classes with flexible learning
  • Hands-on projects and industry case studies
  • Campus immersion with IIT faculty and EV experts

Officials said the programme reflects IIT Bhubaneswar’s focus on combining foundational science with real-world impact while addressing the growing demand for skilled EV professionals. The course will commence on July 24, 2026, with applications currently open.
