The ICC Board and committee meetings scheduled in Doha from March 25–27 have been cancelled due to the ongoing military conflict in West Asia.
Virtual Discussions Planned
ICC officials confirmed that finance committee meetings and other urgent matters will take place virtually over the coming weeks. The possibility of in‑person meetings in April remains open, depending on airspace reopening and safe travel conditions.
Key Issues on Agenda
The meetings were expected to address three major topics: global broadcasting rights with the ICC–JioStar deal expiring in 2027, initial discussions on the next Future Tours Programme (FTP), and Olympic qualification for cricket at Los Angeles 2028. Informal talks on the FTP have already begun among member boards.
Impact on Scheduling
This was the first time ICC meetings were planned in Qatar, which has reported a 447% growth in cricket participation. Limited flights made hosting impossible. The conflict has also disrupted cricket schedules, with the Afghanistan–Sri Lanka white‑ball series in the UAE (March 13–25) likely to be postponed indefinitely.
