IAS Probationers today participated in a training program organised by the Housing and Urban Development Department, which included high-level interactions and field visits.
The probationers met with Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee and District Magistrate Arindam Dakua, who outlined key achievements, flagship schemes, and challenges in urban governance.
This interaction provided insights into policy implementation and administrative coordination.
They visited Buddha Vihar to observe Affordable Housing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), gaining firsthand experience with beneficiary-centric approaches.

The agenda also included visits to the Odisha Urban Academy, a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP), and a Water Treatment Plant (WTP), where officials discussed urban sanitation and water supply systems.
The initiative aimed to enhance the probationers’ understanding of urban governance and prepare them for their future administrative roles.
