K-pop is officially headed for India in a big way. South Korean entertainment giant HYBE has confirmed that it will set up a subsidiary in India by September or October 2025, aiming to bring major acts like BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, ENHYPEN, and more to Indian audiences.
In a statement reported by Soompi, HYBE said, “We are currently conducting local market research and handling the practicalities of setting up the corporation, with the goal of launching around September or October.” The move is part of Chairman Bang Si Hyuk’s “Multi-home, Multi-genre” strategy, which seeks to blend K-pop’s global appeal with local cultural diversity.
HYBE’s expansion into India marks a significant step toward tapping into the country’s 1.4 billion-strong market, potentially reshaping its music scene. Previous global successes—such as HYBE America’s girl group KATSEYE entering the Billboard Hot 100—demonstrate the company’s capability to replicate its system in diverse markets.
Concerts featuring BTS and SEVENTEEN in India are expected to be part of this strategy, although specific dates have yet to be announced. The initiative is also likely to open doors for Indian talent through HYBE’s globally proven training and production ecosystem.
K-pop’s growing popularity in India, especially among Gen Z, sets a fertile stage for this groundbreaking cultural crossover.
