New Delhi: India women team skipper Mithali Raj on Saturday confirmed that Harmanpreet Kaur will be her deputy in the upcoming Women’s World Cup 2022, which is scheduled to be played in New Zealand.
All-rounder Deepti Sharma was named the vice-captain of the Indian women’s team in the final two ODI matches against New Zealand. However, Mithali revealed that Deepti was appointed the vice-captain for New Zealand matches was the decision of selectors.
The Women’s World Cup will be played in New Zealand from March 4-April 3. India will play their first match of the tournament on March 6 against Pakistan.
