Bhubaneswar: Gopal Das, the key accused in the murder of former Minister Naba Das, was in a state of fear over the suspicion that the minister would eliminate him.
The polygraph test of the accused today revealed that Gopal was mentally fit and it was not proved that he was mentally unsound.
One of the witnesses named Manoj Bariha (42), during his statement recording, revealed that the then Minister was annoyed on the ASI for not supporting his followers. He should live cautiously, Manoj stated.
According to the polygraph test report, Gopal Das’ family said that his mother was suffering from mental illness, but there is no document on it.
Gopal also answered all the questions that were asked to Gopal Das as a part of lie detection test. There is no information about his mental disorder.
Gopal used to consume alcohol and quit it since 2013, the report said. Gopal is alert and cooperative in everything during the curse of investigation. His mental function is also normal. Memory and intelligence is fine, the report stated.
The polygraph test mentioned that Manoj Bariha, in his statement, said that he heard from Gandhi Chhak eatery owner Sushant Sahu regarding Naba Das’ anger on the police ASI. Gopal used to tell Susant that the minister was fume on him.
