Boudh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has seized a huge cache of ganja from a pick-up van near Sankhari Chhak under Baunsuni police limits in Boudh district.
The officials have also arrested two persons in connection with the case. They have been identified as Laxman Jala and Ramesh Chandra Kausalya.
Acting on reliable inputs regarding illegal transportation of narcotic drugs (contraband ganja) keeping in a secret chamber of a pick-up van, the officials raided the vehicle and seized the contraband weighing 72 Kg.
A case (31/ 2021) has been registered against the accused persons U/s 20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 at Baunsuni Police Station and further investigation is underway.
The STF has conducted raids at various places and detected eight cases during the last two months.
So far, the officials have arrested nine accused persons and a total of 4 kg 506 gram of brown sugar, 2072 kg ganja and other incriminating materials have been seized from their possession.
