Banshidhar Singh, the former District Panchayat Officer of Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj, was convicted today, in a disproportionate assets (DA) case filed by Odisha Vigilance.
The case, registered under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988, resulted in Singh being sentenced by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada, to two years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,00,000.
Odisha Vigilance has announced its intention to request the competent authority to halt Singh’s pension following his conviction.
