Commissionerate Police have arrested Buddhia Patel, a security guard at DM School, following the recovery of a student’s body from the Reserve Police pond at Panikunda.
Investigators found serious lapses in the school’s security arrangements, which allegedly led to the tragic incident.
Initially, police registered an unnatural death case and began an inquiry. During the investigation, evidence of gross negligence by the security staff surfaced. Based on this, police filed a criminal case and arrested Patel.
Authorities are probing whether other individuals or factors were involved in the student’s death. Officials confirmed that if necessary, more people will be questioned.
The incident has sparked concern over student safety in educational institutions, with calls for stricter monitoring of school security systems.
