The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday launched simultaneous searches at four locations linked to Rabindra Kumar Nayak, Forest Ranger of the Kendrapada Forest Range under the Cuttack Forest Division, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches are being carried out following search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
Four Locations Under Search
According to an official release, Vigilance teams are conducting searches at the following locations:
- A four-storey residential building owned by Nayak at Munduli, Godisahi under Baranga police station in Cuttack district.
- His ancestral house at Sahadapada under Banki police station in Cuttack district.
- His office chamber at the Kendrapada Forest Range.
- His temporary residence in Kendrapada.
Large Vigilance Team Deployed
The operation is being led by a team comprising:
- Five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs)
- Nine Inspectors
- Five Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs)
- Other supporting Vigilance personnel
The coordinated searches began on Tuesday as part of an investigation into the alleged possession of disproportionate assets.
Investigation Underway
The Vigilance department said the searches are continuing, and further details regarding the assets detected or recovered will be shared after the completion of the operation.
The investigation is aimed at verifying whether the assets allegedly owned by the Forest Ranger are disproportionate to his known sources of income.
