The incident occurred when a young woman, travelling with her male friend towards Kendrapada, was allegedly intercepted near Sukarapada on the Cuttack–Chandbali road by a group of men who assaulted her.
Police teams have been deployed across multiple locations to trace the remaining accused. A special investigation team led by a DSP and a woman police officer is overseeing the probe. The SP added that the survivor’s condition is stable and assured that the case will be handled with utmost sensitivity.
