CID Crime Branch cracked a blind murder case through DNA profiling that baffled investigators for months.

Prolonged immersion in water made visual identification impossible. CID Crime Branch took over the investigation and prepared a list of matching missing persons.
They shortlisted two candidates and collected blood samples from the families. On June 29, 2026, DNA profiling confirmed the victim as Juburaj Singh from Sukhua Sahi village under Udala police station.
The DNA matched with his son Biswanath Singh. Investigators discovered that villagers from Banasahi (Dugudha) had invited Juburaj Singh to perform an exorcism ritual. He attended a feast but never returned home.
The killers stuffed his body in a bag and dumped it in the well. The accused suspected Juburaj Singh of practising witchcraft. They believed he caused the death of Sangauramohan Singh’s child. Sangauramohan Singh alias Bida Singh and his brother Narahari Singh alias Bapi Singh, along with one minor, carried out the murder.
Police arrested Sangauramohan Singh and Narahari Singh on July 2, 2026, and produced them in court the same day. Authorities presented the juvenile before the Juvenile Justice Board on July 3.
