A disturbing rape allegation has emerged from the Pipili area near Bhubaneswar after a young woman accused her male friend of sexually assaulting her.
The incident allegedly occurred when the accused took the woman from her hostel to a hotel.
The survivor lodged a complaint, naming her male friend as the perpetrator. Police confirmed that the accused fled after the allegation surfaced. The woman underwent medical examination as part of the investigation.
Reports said the survivor stated her friend lured her out of the hostel and then forced her into a hotel room where the assault took place. Police registered the case and launched a search operation to trace the accused.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage and questioning hotel staff to establish the sequence of events. Officers assured that strict action will follow once the accused is apprehended.
