Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, has emerged as a global box office powerhouse, securing the position of the second-highest-grossing film worldwide during its opening weekend. The high-octane spy thriller earned an impressive $80 million globally, marking one of the biggest openings in Indian cinema history.
The film’s international performance has been particularly noteworthy. It recorded a $2.5 million premiere, the highest ever for an Indian film, and consistently generated over $4 million daily across overseas markets. Despite not releasing in key Gulf regions, the film amassed $22 million from international territories within its opening weekend. In North America alone, it earned $9.6 million, placing it among the top three films in the region.
Globally, Dhurandhar 2 ranked just behind Project Hail Mary, which led the weekend with $140 million. However, the Indian blockbuster outperformed several major Hollywood titles, including Hoppers, Ready or Not 2, and Scream 7.
Domestically, the film has delivered a record-breaking run. Within just four days, it collected approximately ₹454 crore net (₹542 crore gross) in India, including three consecutive days crossing the ₹100 crore mark—an unprecedented achievement for a Bollywood release. This strong domestic momentum has significantly contributed to its global success.
A sequel to the 2025 hit Dhurandhar, the film continues the story of an Indian spy navigating high-stakes international missions. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the ensemble cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
With its current trajectory, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to surpass the $100 million milestone soon, potentially entering the list of the top 10 highest-grossing films globally in 2026. The film’s success highlights the growing international appeal of Indian cinema and its ability to compete with major global productions.
