Puri Police released detailed traffic guidelines for Devasnana Purnima 2026 to ensure smooth movement and safety around Shree Jagannath Temple. SP Prateek Singh announced the plan during a press briefing.
Over 300 CCTV cameras have been installed across key locations in the temple and town to monitor crowd movement and maintain law and order. Singh said 52 cameras cover the temple interior, 250 monitor the surroundings, and 30 are positioned at Market Chhak.
Police personnel have been deployed in 14 sectors inside the temple to manage the heavy influx of devotees. Additional facilities such as drinking water points and shoe stands have been arranged for public convenience.
Vehicles from Bhubaneswar will enter via Harekrushnapur Chhak toward Atharanala and Medical Chhak. Parking zones have been designated at Market Complex and Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre (JBPC), while Digabareni parking will serve visitors heading to the sea beach.
Authorities have restricted vehicular movement on roads leading to the temple to prevent congestion. Devotees will enter through Singhadwar and exit via the North Gate for smooth crowd flow.
NCC cadets, civil defence teams, fire services, and ambulances will remain stationed across the town to assist in emergency and crowd-control operations.
