Deogarh: Four Held In ‘Pihu’ Kidnapping Case

Deogarh: Police have arrested four persons in connection with the kidnapping of a 6-years-old girl Pihu in Deogarh district.

The kidnappers have been identified as Himanshu Narang (21) of Nuagaon village, Deepak Naik (19) of Mendhipali village, Rohit Patra (24) of Balanda village and Maheswar Sagadia (24) of Jareikela village in the district.

As per reports, these miscreants had kidnapped Pihu on December 18 while she was returning from tuition with her grandmother. She was found on the roadside in Badagaon of Sundargarh district next morning. Locals rescued her and called her parents after the girl shared her parent’s phone number with them.

Following the incident, Pihu’s parents had lodged a complaint in the police station. The police soon launched an investigation to catch the kidnappers.

Vehicles used during crime

During investigation from the CCTV footage analysis, technical surveillance and examination of independent witness, Deogarh police identified and apprehended all four kidnappers. Also, the police seized the vehicles used during the crime and four mobile phones from the accused persons. One white colour Suzuki, one blue colour Honda Shine and a blue & black colour Bajaj Discover were seized from their possessions.

During interrogation, the miscreants revealed that, they had abducted the girl for ransom. The victim was rescued within ten hours of the incident and the case was cracked within a very short span of time. “The accused persons will be forwarded to the court today”, S.P. Pradyumna Kumar Mishra said.
