Police DG Yogesh Bahadur Khurania has ordered a Crime Branch investigation into the attack on Independent Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahoo in Jajpur district.
Crime Branch also took up two cases against Bhaba Prasad Das, brother of senior BJD leader Bobby Das.
A six-member special team, formed under the leadership of Saroj Kanta Mohanta, DSP, CID CB, Cuttack, will investigate the Jajpur Sadar PS Case no 330/24 and two more cases registered in connection with this incident. The crime branch will investigate the cases of attack on the MLA, followed by road blockade and police station gherao.
On the evening of the 20th of November, a complaint was filed at the police station that some BJD supporters attacked MLA Sahoo, vandalized his vehicle and beat up his PSO.
