COVID Surge: Rourkela Civic Body Makes Face Masks Mandatory From Today

Sundergarh: Rourkela Municipal Corporation on Wednesday made it mandatory for people to wear face masks from today amid a surge in Covid-19 cases. RMC commissioner Subhankar Mohapatra has also asked people having flu-like symptoms to undergo COVID test at SAIL Health Centre Sector 6, SAIL Health Centre Sector 1 and Rourkela Government Hospital. Following the rise in Covid cases, masks have been made mandatory at several places including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Berhampur. Notably, Odisha on Wednesday reported 1,122fresh daily Covid cases, with Khurda district at the top of the list registering a maximum of 307 infections followed by Sundergarh (197) and Cuttack (132).
