Jharsuguda: COVID-19 vaccine is likely to reach Odisha by the end of January or 1st week of February, informed state Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Monday.
The Health Minister said, “Odisha is fully geared up with cold storages to carry out the mass vaccination programme. Besides, a state-wide dry run for the vaccination programme was also completed successfully two days ago.”
However, Minister Das made it clear that the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to health workers and COVID Warriors in the first phase as per the Centre’s guidelines.
“In the second phase, elderly persons will be inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Minister Naba Das, and added that talks are on with the Centre over the second phase vaccination drive.
