Jharsuguda: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan held a discussion with Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das through video conferencing today regarding COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country.
The virtual meeting was held at the Jharsuguda Collectorate. It has been determined that when the vaccine arrives, how the drive will be organized, and how the vaccine will reach the suburbs from the city.
Minister Das informed discussion was held on vaccine storage and distribution.
The Odisha health minister also discussed the vaccine dry run across the country to be held tomorrow and how to properly carry out vaccination in the first phase.
Notably, the government has indicated that the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to the public on January 13. Initially, the first dose of the vaccine will be given to three crore COVID Warriors.
As per reports, two vaccines have been approved in India. The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved the Covishield of the Serum Institute of India and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech in India. An experts panel set up by the government has allowed the use of Covaxin only for emergency use.
