In a significant move to uphold public health safety, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Health Department conducted a raid on a water distribution company in Sankarpur Das Sahi.
Following allegations that the company was selling unpurified drinking water, officials sealed the premises to prevent further distribution.
During the raid, authorities discovered that litres of untreated water were being released into the market without adhering to proper filtration and purification guidelines. Given the health risks posed by contaminated water, the CMC took immediate action to stop the company’s operations.
Residents in the area have raised concerns about the issue, highlighting the importance of stringent regulation in water distribution. Officials have assured that further inspections will be carried out across Cuttack to ensure compliance with safety standards.
The public is advised to verify the source of their drinking water and report any suspicious activities regarding unsafe water supply to the concerned authorities.
