A shocking incident occurred at Remuna High School today when a Class 9 student was attacked by a Class 10 student with a machette during the school’s annual function.
According to reports, the victim went near the bathroom around 2 PM when the Class 10 student suddenly assaulted him with a machette. The victim sustained deep injuries on his hand and head and was rushed to Balasore Medical College Hospital, where treatment is ongoing.
The attacker, a minor, later surrendered at the police station. Police seized the machete and informed his family. His father has reached the station. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, though suspicions of personal rivalry or a possible love-related dispute have surfaced.
The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety, especially as it comes just two days after a gun was found inside the school bag of a Class 8 student at Srijanga High School in Remuna block.
