In a proactive move to ensure safety and harmony during the upcoming festive season, a high-level meeting of Superintendents of Police (SPs) from the Central Range districts—Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jajpur, and Jagatsingpur—was convened at the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Central Range, in Cuttack.
Chaired by Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG Central Range, the meeting focused on strengthening law enforcement strategies and fostering a peaceful environment for the much-anticipated Durga Puja and Laxmi Puja celebrations.
The agenda covered critical aspects of policing, including crime prevention, maintaining law and order, and enhancing police-public relationships. Dr. Naik emphasised the importance of coordination among the districts to ensure seamless policing services. “Our goal is to create a secure and festive atmosphere where citizens can celebrate without fear. Strengthening ties with the community is at the heart of our strategy,” he stated.
Special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming festivals, with plans to deploy adequate forces, enhance surveillance, and implement crowd management measures at key locations.
The SPs discussed strategies to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety, particularly in crowded areas during the festivities. The meeting also highlighted the need for community engagement to build trust and encourage public cooperation in maintaining peace.
