Dubai: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the World Government Summit, the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai shimmered with the words ‘Guest of Honor – Republic of India’, extending a hearty welcome to the Indian PM.
Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted the enduring bond between the two nations, hailing it as a beacon of international cooperation, and welcomed PM Modi with this special gesture.
PM Modi who began his two-day visit to the Arab nation on Tuesday arrived in Abu Dhabi and was welcomed by United Arab Emirates president Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He was also accorded the Guard of Honour, signifying the warm reception and diplomatic significance of the visit.
He held wide-ranging talks with the UAE’s President during which they reviewed the strategic partnership, discussed new areas of cooperation and witnessed the signing of several agreements, including a bilateral investment treaty. Both countries also signed agreements on the interlinking of digital payment platforms.
The two leaders have met five times in the last seven months, and this is Modi’s seventh visit to the UAE since assuming office.
Speaking on ‘X’, Dubai’s Crown Prince expressed, “We extend a warm welcome to the Republic of India, the guest of honour at this year’s World Governments Summit, and to His Excellency Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. The strong ties between our nations serve as a model for international cooperation.”
