Cattle Laden Truck Seized In Khurda, 70 Cows Rescued

Khurda: Police seized a cattle-laden truck on the National Highway 16 at Jankia in Khurda district and rescued about 70 cows from it.

Based on intelligence, a team of cops with the IIC of Jankia police station Prajna Ritambhara led by ADPO Dilip Kumar Das under the direction of SP Siddharth Kataria, conducted a raid at Jankia and seized the cattle-laden Eicher truck.

As per reports, the vehicle was carrying the cows from the Jamusahi area under Begunia police limits to Andhra Pradesh. Police have detained three persons in the vehicle along with the driver.

The driver has been identified as Sabhabat Suresh of Telangana, the other two persons are S.K Nousad and Sumant Pattnaik of Kushpalla village under Begunia police limits in Khurda district.

The rescued cattle have been sent to the Sijua cow shelter and the vehicle has been taken to the Jankia police station.
