A car rammed into a security barricade outside the Odisha Legislative Assembly late Tuesday night, triggering a major security alert.
The vehicle, reportedly driven by an intoxicated person, broke through the cordon and smashed into the barrier, causing heavy damage.
Police and Special Tactical Group (STG) commandos rushed to the spot moments after the crash. Security personnel sealed the area and inspected the vehicle thoroughly, given the sensitive nature of the location. Two individuals linked to the incident were detained and questioned by the police.
The barricade prevented a potential disaster, stopping the car from entering the Assembly premises. The incident has raised serious concerns about security lapses around the Assembly complex.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine how the vehicle breached the security zone and whether negligence or intent played a role.
