Patnagarh witnessed high drama on Monday morning when a bus driver of the ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’ was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a local resident.
According to reports, Nabin Sahu of Banmal village confronted the bus near the Panchayat office, accusing the driver of hitting his motorcycle. He allegedly brandished a firearm, threatened to shoot, and created panic among passengers and staff.
The driver, Om Prakash Tandi, along with staff members Pratap Dharua, Dukhnasan Biswal, and Jay Sabar, were left shaken as the accused repeatedly issued threats. One staffer managed to snatch the weapon, which police later confirmed to be a fake gun.
The accused fled the scene and remains absconding. Police have seized the firearm and launched a search operation. Patnagarh police sources said Nabin Sahu is a known offender with cases registered in multiple police stations. Authorities are under pressure to arrest him before further incidents occur.
