Several schools in Ahmedabad and Vadodara received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, prompting authorities to heighten security and launch extensive search operations across campuses.

According to district education officials, the threatening emails warned of coordinated explosions and reportedly contained references to extremist motives. The emails triggered immediate precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students, staff, and school communities.

Search Operations Underway

Police teams, along with bomb detection and disposal squads and sniffer dog units, were deployed to inspect affected school premises. Senior police officials confirmed that the emails were received around 7:00 AM and allegedly mentioned a specific time for potential explosions later in the day.

In Vadodara alone, more than 18 schools were targeted. Institutions that reportedly received threats include DR Amin School, Urmi School, Nalanda School, Baroda High School (Bagikhana), Navyug School, Jeevan Sadhana School, Shannen School, Bright Day School, Atmiya Vidyalaya, Don Bosco (Makarpura), Billabong High International School, Auxilium Convent, Zenith School, American School, Green Valley School, GPS, and AWS Dabhoi.

Authorities conducted thorough checks of classrooms, administrative buildings, playgrounds, and surrounding areas.

Schools Declare Holiday as Precaution

As a safety measure, most of the affected schools declared a one-day holiday. Parents were informed promptly, and students were asked to remain at home until further notice.

Officials have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. Investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the emails and determine whether the threats are credible or part of a hoax.

Investigation in Progress

Cybercrime units are examining the origin of the emails. Law enforcement agencies have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.

No suspicious objects had been found at the time of reporting.

Further updates are awaited as authorities continue their probe.
