A heart-wrenching incident occurred near Dinabandhupur village under Putasing police limits in Rayagada district, where a 20-year-old Blo Bom devotee tragically drowned in the Mahendra Tanaya River while participating in the rituals.
The deceased, identified as Kahna Biridalei of K. Jharlan village in Gajapati district, was part of a group of around 30 devotees collecting sacred water meant for offering at Bhimshankar.
Local villagers launched an extensive search operation and recovered the body after several hours. The Putasing police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Kahna’s body was later shifted to Gunupur hospital for postmortem.
