Odisha government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marked the first anniversary with a grand event at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a stirring address, the Chief Minister lauded the Prime Minister’s leadership and outlined the state’s remarkable progress over the past year, setting an ambitious vision for Odisha’s future.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s sixth visit to Odisha in the past year, underscoring his deep affinity for the state. “Your presence today strengthens our resolve,” the Chief Minister said, reflecting on the government’s formation under the Prime Minister’s guidance a year ago.
The Chief Minister detailed Odisha’s transformative journey, aligning with the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”. Key achievements include:

Agricultural Support: Farmers received an additional ₹800 per quintal for paddy and ₹10,000 annually through the PM Kisan-CM Kisan Yojana.

Women Empowerment: Over 1 crore women joined the Subhadra Yojana, with Odisha leading nationally by creating 17 lakh Lakhpati Didis.

Healthcare Access: Implementation of Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana ensured broader health coverage.

Educational Reforms: Initiatives like Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Primary Schools, Heritage Schools, and PM SHRI Yojana, alongside the National Education Policy 2020, aim to revolutionise education.

Environmental Milestone: The Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign achieved its target by planting 6.69 crore trees.
The state also made strides in tribal welfare, rural development, and employment, with 28,346 youths securing government jobs through 10 job fairs. The Chief Minister emphasised a clear roadmap for Odisha’s growth, targeting a $500 billion economy by 2036 and $1.5 trillion by 2047.
The event highlighted Odisha’s industrial progress, spurred by the “Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha” summit in January 2025, which attracted Rs 17 lakh crore in investment proposals. Within 140 days, 56 industries worth Rs 1.8 lakh crore were launched, positioning Odisha as a key industrial hub in eastern India.
The Prime Minister inaugurated railway projects worth Rs 2,700 crore, connecting Boudh district to the rail network and launching two new train services. The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for his unwavering support in enhancing Odisha’s rail, road, and aviation infrastructure.
The Chief Minister praised the Prime Minister’s 11-year tenure, noting India’s rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy, with extreme poverty dropping from 27.1% to 5.3%. Initiatives like Operation Sindoor were hailed as symbols of a fearless, self-reliant India. “The nation says, ‘Modi Hai Toh Desh Surakshit Hai’,” the Chief Minister remarked, echoing public sentiment.
The Chief Minister unveiled Odisha’s Vision Document 2036 & 2047, comprising 36 programs to align with the Prime Minister’s goal of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). “With your guidance, Odisha will become a prosperous state by 2036 and contribute significantly to a developed India by 2047,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
The event also coincided with President Droupadi Murmu’s birthday, with the Chief Minister extending heartfelt wishes to Odisha’s daughter and the nation’s President.
Concluding the address, the Chief Minister called for collective efforts to build a Samruddha Odisha (Prosperous Odisha). “Let us join hands to shape a developed Odisha and a Viksit Bharat,” he urged, thanking the Prime Minister for inspiring Odisha’s transformative journey.
