In supersession of all previous orders, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has officially announced a comprehensive restructuring of its media cell on October 2, 2026.
The reshuffle aims to bolster the party’s communication framework across multiple platforms, appointing experienced leaders to drive electronic, print, digital, and public relations strategies.
Electronic, Print, and Digital Media Wings
The newly reconstituted media apparatus is divided into dedicated functional domains:

Electronic Media: Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo takes charge as Chief Coordinator, supported by Debesh Acharya as Senior Coordinator and Lenin Mohanty as Coordinator.

Print Media: Sanjay Kumar Das Burma has been named Chief Coordinator, alongside Goutam Buddha Das (Senior Coordinator) and Priabrata Majhi (Coordinator).

Social Media & IT: Pratap Jena leads as Chief Coordinator for Social Media & IT, with Pranab Kumar Balabantaray as Senior Coordinator. Additionally, Swayam Prakash Mahapatra has been appointed as Coordinator for Social Media, while Amresh Patri takes over as IT Coordinator.
National and State Spokespersons
To effectively represent the party’s stance across public platforms, the BJD has designated a robust lineup of spokespersons:

National Spokespersons: A 10-member panel has been instituted, featuring prominent figures such as Dr Santrupt Misra, Dr Sasmit Patra, Manas Mangaraj, Sulata Deo, Subhashish Khuntia, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Chiranjib Biswal, Pradip Majhi, Lekhasri Samantsinghar, and Bhrugu Buxipatra.
