Babil Khan has set off a storm on social media after sharing a now-deleted emotional video where he labelled Bollywood as “rude”, sparking intense reactions from both fans and industry insiders.
The video, in which Babil tearfully praised a few industry peers—like Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Arjun Kapoor, and Shanaya Kapoor—was seen by many as unintentionally dismissive of others. Director Sai Rajesh, reportedly helming the Hindi remake of his Telugu hit Baby with Babil in the lead, took serious offense.
In a now-deleted Instagram post (shared later via Reddit), Sai slammed Babil and his team, saying they owed the rest of the film’s crew an apology. He accused them of playing “sympathy games” and implied that respect was being reserved only for those mentioned in Babil’s post.
Babil’s reply was equally raw and emotional. He wrote:
“You really broke my heart. After everything I’ve given you… 2 years of my life, 500 days on set, physical and mental exhaustion. I lived in filth, had bugs in my beard, slit my f***ing wrist for that character. And now you question my intent?”
This intense back-and-forth reveals a behind-the-scenes rift on the upcoming remake of Baby, which is believed to be directed by Sai Rajesh himself.
Babil has since reactivated his Instagram and issued an apology for the earlier video, clarifying that he only wanted to show support to those he mentioned. Interestingly, many of those celebrities have now come forward in solidarity, including Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, whom Babil has publicly appreciated in recent posts.
The episode highlights the fragile dynamics in the film industry—where intentions, emotions, and public perception collide in the social media spotlight.
