In a captivating contest at the Perth Hockey Stadium, the Indian Women’s Hockey Team faced a narrow defeat against Australia A in their second match of the Australia tour.

Despite an impressive display of skill and determination, India lost 3-2 in a match filled with intensity and drama.

India took an early lead with Jyoti Singh converting a penalty corner in the 11th minute, energising the team and setting the tone for the game. However, Australia A responded with a quick equaliser from Evie Stansby in the 18th minute. The first half concluded with both teams locked at 1-1.

The second half saw a relentless effort from both sides. Dayle Dolkens tipped the scales in favour of Australia A, scoring in the 47th minute to make it 2-1. A further blow came when Jamie-Lee Surha extended Australia’s lead with another goal in the 53rd minute, leaving India trailing 3-1.

Sunelita Toppo reignited hope for India with a late goal in the 59th minute. However, the clock worked against them, and Australia A held on to secure their victory.

India will look to regroup as they prepare for their third match of the tour on Thursday, aiming to bounce back with a stronger performance.

This thrilling match showcased the resilience and potential of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team, who continue to make strides on the international stage. Fans back home remain optimistic as the tour progresses.
