Mayurbhanj: An Assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) was allegedly attacked during mask checking drive by Udala Police in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the ASI was allegedly attacked by accused Manoj Kumar Kuanr, Baripada Jail Warder.
The situation turned ugly when Kuanr manhandled the ASI and later attacked the cop. As the patrolling team tried to nab Kuanr and make him sit inside the police vehicle, he pushed the policemen and abused them, reports added.
He was then taken to the Udala police station for questioning and later to the hospital, during which he allegedly did not cooperate.
Sources said the accused warder was in an inebriated state.
