Bargarh: Polling to the post of Sarpanch in Govindpur gram panchayat of Bargarh district has been postponed following the death of a candidate Balmiki Pradhan on Wednesday.
“The election for Govindpur GP Sarpanch post, which was scheduled to be held on February 24, has been postponed, due to the sudden death of candidate Balmiki Pradhan, informed BDO-cum-Election Officer Yudhisthir Meher today.
It is pertinent to mention here that the election to the post of Sarpanch in Kelendapalli gram panchayat under Bhatli block of the district was postponed on Tuesday following the sudden death of candidate Saroj Seth. He died while undergoing treatment for cancer at SCBMCH in Cuttack.

Earlier today, the election to the post of Sarpanch in Jasapada gram panchayat under Sadar block in Cuttack district was postponed following the death of candidate Namita Behera.
