Shri Lanka Dinakar, Chairperson of the Twenty Points Programme, Government of Andhra Pradesh, visited Odisha from April 26 to 29 on a study tour to review flagship Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Sustainable Development Goal performance, and Odisha’s Vision Document aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047.

On April 27, Dinakar held a meeting with senior officials at Lokseva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. Special Secretary T. Ao welcomed the delegation and set the context. Dinakar praised Odisha’s growth under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and outlined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat, emphasising welfare, governance, and development.

He noted India’s rise from the 11th-largest economy in 2014 to a leading global economy, projecting it to become the third-largest by 2029–30 and the largest by 2047. He stressed the importance of state contributions to this national goal.

Dinakar highlighted opportunities through the Visakhapatnam Industrial Corridor and Odisha’s mineral wealth, eco-tourism, and spiritual tourism. He commended Odisha’s disaster management practices and prudent financial management, noting its top rank in the Fiscal Health Index. He also appreciated Odisha’s handloom and handicrafts sector, including Dokra art and palm leaf painting.

Officials presented Odisha’s Vision Document and SDG progress, while the Finance Department explained the role of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in poverty eradication and socio-economic development. Dinakar emphasised that Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will contribute to building Viksit Bharat, calling the visit valuable for knowledge sharing and strengthening governance practices.
