Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has been announced as Chanel’s first-ever brand ambassador for India, marking a major milestone both for the star and for the French luxury house’s growing presence in the country.
The announcement was made on April 16, positioning Ananya as a fresh global face representing India’s influence in the expanding luxury fashion market.
In a statement to the Business of Fashion (BoF), Chanel praised Ananya for embodying “a generation of evolving tastes and fiercely independent identities,” noting that her values strongly align with the brand’s spirit.
Sharing her excitement, Ananya said, “Chanel represents the essence of personal liberation — empowering one to boldly embrace their individuality with timeless elegance.”
Speculation around the appointment had been swirling since Ananya’s appearance at the Chanel Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris, where she wore a look from the brand’s Cruise Collection. She attended the show with her sister, Rysa Panday.
This collaboration adds to Ananya’s impressive portfolio of global endorsements. She is also the face of Swarovski, has featured in Jimmy Choo’s India campaigns, and is a brand ambassador for Lakmé, Beats, and Timex.
Ananya’s growing association with international labels reflects her rising influence as a youth icon in the fashion and luxury space — and India’s increasing role in the global luxury landscape.
