Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrives in Bhubaneswar tonight for a two-day official visit to Odisha.
Shah will attend the CISF Raising Day ceremony at Mundali in Cuttack, highlighting the force’s role in national security. He will lay the foundation stone for the National Forensic Sciences University and the CFSL Bhubaneswar campus at Jatni. He will also inaugurate the NFSU transit campus virtually and open an exhibition on new criminal laws at the Idco Exhibition Ground.
His itinerary includes inaugurating the Sulphuric Acid Plant at IFFCO Paradip, boosting fertiliser production. He will participate in Shwet Kranti 2.0 and Cooperative Push, initiatives aimed at dairy growth, youth empowerment, and farmer welfare.
Commissionerate Police announced temporary traffic restrictions in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. On March 5, restrictions apply from 8 pm to 8:45 pm at Airport Square, AG Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, and other key points. On March 6, curbs will be enforced in phases across major routes, including Nalco Square, Patia Square, KIIT Square, Nandankanan Square, and CISF Mundali. Later in the day, restrictions will cover PMG Square, Rabindra Mandap Square, Ram Mandir Square, and Airport Square.
Commissioner SD Singh stated that emergency vehicles remain exempt. He urged residents to plan ahead and avoid restricted routes.
Cuttack Administration declared a 5-km radius around CISF Mundali as a ‘No Drone Zone’ from March 3 to 6. Flying drones, UAVs, paragliders, and similar aerial devices is strictly prohibited. Civil works and construction activities along designated routes remain suspended during the visit.
