Alcaraz Dominates Rinderknech; Draper Defeats Nakashima in Queen’s Club Quarterfinals

The Queen’s Club Championships 2025 saw two contrasting yet commanding victories as Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Britain’s Jack Draper secured their semifinal spots on Friday.

Top seed and defending Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz shrugged off Thursday’s exhausting three-hour marathon by dispatching France’s Arthur Rinderknech in a clinical 7-5, 6-4 performance. The 22-year-old, extending his winning streak to 16 matches, looked far fresher than expected after his taxing duel with fellow Spaniard Jaume Munar.

“I was thinking I’d feel worse today, so I’m glad this was a quicker one,” said the five-time Grand Slam champion, who now awaits the winner of Holger Rune vs Roberto Bautista Agut.

Meanwhile, British hopeful Jack Draper gave home fans much to cheer about with a gritty 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over America’s Brandon Nakashima. The 23-year-old’s signature forehand power reemerged in a decisive third set to carry him into his first semifinal at Queen’s—securing him a coveted top-four Wimbledon seeding.

“It means the world to me,” Draper said. “To be the fourth seed at Wimbledon just a year after being ranked 40 is surreal.”

Draper will next face Czech Jiri Lehecka, who earlier beat Britain’s Jacob Fearnley. With mounting anticipation, the weekend action promises fierce rallies, home-court roars, and a potential repeat showdown between Alcaraz and Draper at Wimbledon looming ever closer.
