Under the transformative Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways is undertaking a comprehensive modernization of six key stations in Central Odisha—Angul, Talcher, Talcher Road, Meramandali, Dhenkanal, and Rairakhol.

This ambitious initiative aims to upgrade infrastructure to world-class standards while enhancing passenger convenience, accessibility, and sustainability.

The redevelopment plan includes new station buildings with modern amenities, improved façades, wider foot over bridges, passenger lifts, and upgraded platforms with shelters, digital signage, and enhanced security measures. Sustainability features like energy-efficient lighting, water conservation, and integrated transport infrastructure are also integral to the project.

With station-wise budgets allocated for modern facilities and infrastructure upgrades, Indian Railways is poised to improve connectivity, boost tourism, and generate employment opportunities. Construction is progressing in phases, with completion targeted in the coming years.

• Wider Foot Over Bridges (12 meters) and passenger lifts to improve accessibility for all.

• Enhanced Platforms with better surface quality, increased shelter bays, digital signage, and security systems.

• Green and Sustainable Design principles, including energy-efficient lighting, water conservation, and waste management.

• Integrated Transport Infrastructure with drop-off/pick-up lanes and ample parking facilities.

• Digital Amenities like Wi-Fi, LED coach indication boards, train information displays, and improved lounge areas.

🔹 Angul Station | Sanctioned Cost of ₹25.41 Cr

• New station building with modern facilities

• Improved façade, 12-meter-wide Foot Over bridge (FOB), 2 lifts

• LED Signage, Coach/Train Display Boards

• Additional 35-bay Platform Shelters

🔹 Talcher Road Station | Sanctioned Cost of ₹18.85 Cr

• Modern new building and upgraded façade

• 12-meter-wide Foot Over bridge (FOB), 2 lifts

• LED-based Information Systems

• 25-bay Platform Shelters

🔹 Talcher Station | Sanctioned Cost of ₹12.97 Cr

• New Building and Platform upgrades

• Façade improvement, LED signboards

• 15-bay Platform Shelters

🔹 Meramandali Station | Sanctioned Cost of ₹21.99 Cr

• New Building and improved façade

• 12-meter wide Foot Over bridge (FOB), 2 lifts

• Digital Signboards, 20-bay Shelters

🔹 Dhenkanal Station | Sanctioned Cost of ₹26.11 Cr

• New Station Building with modern Passenger Amenities

• 12-meter wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB), 2 Lifts, upgraded Goods Shed facilities

• LED display boards, 25-bay Shelters

• Connecting Road to Station

🔹 Rairakhol Station | Sanctioned Cost of ₹26.93 Cr

• Complete Redevelopment of existing Station and Development of Second Entry

• 12-meter wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB), 2 Lifts

• 7-bay Shelters on Platforms 1, 2 & 3

• Signage upgrades, improved Toilets, and Divyangjan-friendly features

These upgrades will not only ease passenger movement but also create employment opportunities and encourage tourism across Central Odisha. With improved connectivity and user-centric design, these stations are poised to become modern transport hubs that reflect the Indian Railway’s vision for providing a transformed and sustainable transportation service.

Indian Railways reaffirms its commitment to timely execution and quality delivery of these projects, with construction progressing in phases and completion scheduled over the next few years.
