The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished unauthorised portions of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s bungalow in Mumbai’s upscale Juhu area.
The action followed reports that recent interior construction work continued despite the issuance of a stop-work order.
The actor’s residence, spanning 7,802 square ft in the Kapol Cooperative Housing Society, was undergoing interior alterations, including new partition walls, windows, and structural changes. Civic officials stated that these modifications were being carried out without mandatory municipal approvals.
According to officials, a notice under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act was served on Sept 10, 2026, directing an immediate halt to all ongoing work. However, civic authorities noted that construction persisted in violation of the order, prompting BMC teams to move in with machinery to pull down the unauthorised structures.
