India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 hosted the “AI for Good – Impact India” Summit, co-organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Secretary Telecom Dr. Neeraj Mittal and ITU’s Bilel Jamoussi inaugurated the event, spotlighting AI’s role in building smart, secure, and inclusive networks.
Throughout the two-day summit, global experts, startups, and policymakers explored AI’s impact on healthcare, agriculture, climate resilience, and public services. Dr. Mittal emphasized the shift from generative to agentic AI, which enables self-healing networks and better customer service. He also warned about rising risks like deepfakes and financial fraud as India moves from 5G to 6G.
Meanwhile, panel discussions tackled AI governance, cybersecurity, youth safety, and disaster response. Sessions such as “Quantum for Good” and “AI Governance in Action” promoted ethical standards and global cooperation. Mr. Jamoussi praised India’s leadership in advancing responsible AI and digital inclusion.
The Innovation Factory India 2025 platform showcased breakthrough AI solutions from startups. Judges from ITU and industry selected winners of the AI Native Bharat 5G Build-a-Thon, honoring young innovators in AI/ML.
By aligning with the IndiaAI Mission and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the summit reaffirmed India’s commitment to ethical AI and global standard-setting.
