The Odisha Government transferred senior IPS officer Dayal Gangwar, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Communication, Odisha, Cuttack, and appointed him as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department with immediate effect.
The Home Department issued the notification on May 25, 2026, under the order of the Governor. Trilochan Majhi, Additional Secretary to the Government, signed the official communication.
Gangwar, a 1998 batch IPS officer, has held several key positions in the Odisha Police and contributed to strengthening communication and coordination systems across the state. His transfer marks a significant administrative reshuffle within the department.
Sources said the move aims to streamline internal operations and enhance policy execution under the Home Department. Officials expect Gangwar’s experience to support ongoing reforms in police administration and inter-departmental coordination.
