Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Thailand and Sri Lanka with the aim of fostering partnerships and enhancing regional cooperation.

The visit will commence with the 6th BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit in Thailand, hosted by Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

The summit, a vital platform for promoting development and connectivity in the Bay of Bengal region, holds special importance for India, particularly for the North Eastern states. Discussions with Thai leadership will focus on strengthening historical connections rooted in shared culture, philosophy, and spiritual heritage.

Following this, the Prime Minister will proceed to Sri Lanka for a two-day visit from April 4–6. This trip follows the visit of Sri Lankan President Disanayaka to India last December. Both leaders will review the progress of their joint vision, “Fostering Partnerships for a Shared Future,” and chart a roadmap for future goals.

These visits are expected to enhance regional prosperity, deepen bilateral relationships, and fortify India’s collaborative ties with its neighboring countries.
