Kodinga Revenue Inspector (RI) Biranchi Narayan Das has been placed under immediate suspension for unauthorised absence from duty during a critical flood situation in Nabarangapur.
Nabarangapur Collector Dr Maheswar Swain took decisive action against the official after reports confirmed that Das failed to report to work, defying an administrative order that had cancelled all leaves across the district in response to the escalating crisis.
According to the official office order issued on September 28, Das will remain suspended pending the completion of a formal disciplinary inquiry. During this period, his official headquarters has been set at the Revenue Section of the Nabarangapur Collectorate. He will operate directly under the administrative control of the Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) and is strictly barred from leaving headquarters without prior official permission.
