Puri:Â Shut following rising COVID cases, the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri may reopen on February 1st. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will take the final decision today.
SJTA Chief Krishan Kumar will chair a virtual meeting of Chhatisa Nijog this afternoon and have a discussion.
The temple administration, however, maintained that the Covid scenario would have to be borne in mind all the while and precautionary measures would be a priority. When the temple re-opens, face masks would be mandatory for devotes while sanitizers will be a must. A detailed SOP will be chalked out and presented to the government too.
Worth mentioning, the SJTA had closed the temple from January 10 to 31 amid steep rise in COVID-19 cases.
