Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida chaired a high-level review meeting at the WCD Conference Hall in Bhubaneswar to assess state-wide preparations for ‘Angan Utsav’, scheduled to be celebrated across Odisha from September 27 to 29, 2026.
The meeting focused on establishing effective coordination across districts for the three-day event. The celebration aims to highlight the crucial role of Anganwadi Centres in enhancing early childhood care, nutrition, health, and community engagement.
Reviewing the arrangements, Deputy CM Parida emphasised active stakeholder involvement and directed officials to organise the event in a people-centric, inclusive manner.
She highlighted the need to showcase the ongoing transformation of Anganwadi Centres and the comprehensive services offered for the holistic development of children and mothers.
The Deputy Chief Minister also evaluated proposed grassroots activities and coordination mechanisms, instructing officials to ensure seamless implementation and widespread community participation across all districts.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department, Dr Mrinalini Darswal, Director of WCD, Monisha Banerjee, alongside other senior departmental officers.
